Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in North Ogden, Utah
This beautiful monument represents the ultimate sacrifice made by a military member in service to their country and to honor their families. It is a beautiful display of our pride and gratitude to the families of those who have died in service to our country. This 8 foot tall, 14-foot long granite monument will stand as a reminder to those families that our town will never forget their sacrifice.
The Hershel Woody Williams Medal of Honor Foundation has inspired 55 of these monuments around the United States but this monument would be the first placed here in Utah. The site that has been chosen for this monument is on the grounds of the North Ogden City Office Complex where it will be surrounded by the Library, City Administration Office and Courthouse. It will stand near the flagpole, which proudly flies the Gold Star Flag for our former Mayor, Brent Taylor. The site for the monument was unanimously approved by the North Ogden City Council and has their full support.
The dedication celebration was held on August 1, 2020. With the help of Follow the Flag and The Major Brent Taylor Leadership Foundation, we were able to raise the funds necessary to carry out this project.
